Student Council
“To learn is to lead” is the motto of our School and is a precept that is put into practice through various leadership initiatives. One of the most important of these is the Student Council – comprising a group of students who have been appointed to leadership positions at The Pinnacle School. The Student Council plays a very important role in helping share students’ ideas, interests and concerns with the Teachers and Principal.
The Council is composed of the School Head Boy and Head Girl, the four House Captains, Vice-Captains and Prefects from classes 8-12, as well as two teachers who are known as House Mistresses. To encourage teamwork and share responsibility, the students belong to one of the four Houses – viz., Gandhi, Tagore, Teresa and Nehru. A spirit of camaraderie and competition exists whenever these Houses compete with one another – whether in academics or extra-curricular activities such as Sports, Drama, Dance, Theatre etc. Students are given the opportunity to develop leadership skills through a selection process that is both rigorous and fair in the election of House Captains, Vice Captains and Prefects – first through a voting process by their peers and then at several discussion forums with the Principal and staff.
